Webinar: Working with TAF – Insights on Obtaining and Efficiently Managing your Data

Overview

For researchers focusing on Medicaid data, navigating the new T-MSIS Analytic Files (TAF) is a learning process. While the TAF data represent a significant improvement in quality and usability compared to the retired Medicaid Analytic eXtract (MAX), they remain highly complex, with varying data quality issues across states, eligibility categories, and data elements.

This 60-minute webinar focused on the fundamental steps for getting started with TAF and best practices for efficiently working with the data. Featuring presentations from Kendra Komoto, MPH (ResDAC), Daniel Kurowski, MPH (Health Care Cost Institute), and Thomas Meath, MPH (Oregon Health & Science University), and moderated by K. John McConnell, PhD, the webinar brought together technical and research experts to share practical strategies for efficiently working with TAF data and provide key insights for both new and experienced users

The webinar recording is available here.
